WORKING
TOGETHER
TO PROTECT OUR FUTURE.
Red River Valley Alliance was formed as a flood prevention initiative for the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo area. We have a vision for the future which starts with the construction of a diversion outlet to prevent a repeat of catastrophic flood damages.
RRVA is contracted for 30 years of operation and maintenance of the diversion channel after installation. We are here for the long haul as lasting fixtures and members of the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo area.
MISSION
Our mission is to design, construct, maintain and operate the largest North American diversion channel project that protects the people of the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo area.
BRAND PROMISE
A NEW WAY FORWARD.
Why This Project?
After the devastation of the 1997 flood, there was agreement in the Fargo-Moorhead community that something needed to be done to prevent a repeat of the catastrophic damages. Planning began for what would become the FM Area Diversion. The process has included studies, permits, Congressional action and hard work from many key entities.
Now, the community is on track to have permanent, reliable flood protection by 2027.
