Controlled Burn

ByTara Ekren /

As construction continues within the stormwater diversion channel portion of the FM Area Diversion project, ASN Constructors is planning a controlled burn of two small piles of trees within the construction right of way.

The controlled burn will begin Friday, October 2, 2026, and may continue into the evening. Crews will follow all applicable environmental and safety precautions to minimize impacts and protect the public.

One tree pile is located on the north side of westbound Interstate 94 west of 38th Street W. The second tree pile is located on the south side of eastbound Interstate 94, west of 38th Street W.

For safety, ASN Constructors has coordinated this controlled burn with local fire departments to ensure safe burning conditions.

The public may notice visible smoke in these areas during the controlled burn. ASN Constructors is committed to keeping disruptions to the public as minimal as possible and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation.
