ByCBochman /

A prominent piece of flood protection for Fargo, Moorhead, and neighboring communities is wrapping up construction.

The Metro Flood Diversion Authority is hosting a dedication ceremony on Friday after the completion of the Diversion Inlet Structure in Horace. Speakers and a dedicated plaque will be installed, and viewers can watch online via livestream.

Once the remainder of the FM Diversion is complete, it will provide flood protection for over 260,000 people for Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, and Harwood.
